Annual ceremonies
※The dedicatory performance of Etchu Isami Taiko takes place in March, September, and October.
January（睦月・Mutsuki）
歳旦祭【Saitansai】
From 12:00 AM on January 1st
This is a festival to celebrate the New Year and pray for the well-being of the people, a bountiful harvest, and the prosperity of the Imperial Family.
Every other year, the Higashi-Nojiri Fire Brigade visits the shrine, and fire prevention talismans are distributed to all households in the district.
元始祭【Genshisai】
January 3rd from 6:00 PM
The Imperial New Year's Ceremony held on January 3rd at the three sanctuaries of the Imperial Palace. This ceremony celebrates the origin of the Imperial Throne. Before World War II, it was considered a national grand festival, but after the war, it has also been held at shrines across the country.
二月（如月・Kisaragi）
鎮火祭【Hoshizume-no-matsuri】
February 27th from 6:00 PM
This is a festival held to prevent fires and purify the defilement of fire.
祈年祭【Kinensai】
February 27th from 6:00 PM
Although it is an Imperial Court ceremony, this festival is also held at shrines across the country to pray for a bountiful harvest and other blessings for the year.
March（弥生・Yayoi）
春季例祭【Syunki-reisai】
The 4th Sunday of March from 6:00 PM
It is a festival where offerings are grandly presented to the gods, and prayers are made for the priests, the descendants of the community, and for a bountiful harvest.
After the festival, a dedicatory performance of Etchu Isami Taiko in the style of Kyoku-uchi is held.
May（卯月・Uzuki）
The Mushi Matsuri (Exorcism of Insects) will be held for the worshippers of affiliated shrines, and Gohei (ritual offerings) will be distributed.
June（水無月・Minatsuki）
The Mushi Matsuri (Exorcism of Insects) will be held for the worshippers of affiliated shrines, and Gohei (ritual offerings) will be distributed.
July（文月・Humitsuki）
除蝗祭【Jyokokusai】
The 4th Sunday of July from 6:00 AM
This is a festival held to pray for the protection of crops from damage caused by pests. After the festival, large taiko drums are played for the Netsu-okuri (insect exorcism) in the shrine grounds and in front of the Taishidō at the center of Nomurajima.
August（葉月・Hatsuki）
中元祭【Tyuugensai】
August 15th from 6:00 PM
This is a festival held to comfort the spirits of ancestors and those who have no one to honor them, and to pray for the atonement of the deceased.
September（長月・Nagatsuki）
秋季例祭【Syuuki-reisai】
September 9th from 6:00 PM
This is a festival to express gratitude to the god of the rice fields who has protected the fields and assisted with farming since spring. Offerings made with the new harvest, including sacred food (Shinsen) and sacred sake, are presented to the god.
After the festival, a dedicatory performance of Etchu Isami Taiko in the Kyoku-uchi style is held.
October（神無月・Kannazuki）
秋祭【Akimatsuri】
The 2nd Saturday of October from 3:00 PM
This is a festival to give thanks to the gods for the successful completion of the autumn harvest and to celebrate the joy of a bountiful crop.
After the festival, a lion dance and a dedicatory performance of Etchu Isami Taiko in the Kyoku-uchi style are offered.
November（霜月・Shimotsuki）
新嘗祭【Niinamesai】
November 24th from 6:00 PM
This is a festival to express gratitude to the god of the rice fields who has protected the fields and helped with the farming since spring. Offerings made with the new harvest, including sacred food (Shinsen) and sacred sake, are presented to the god.
After the festival, a dedicatory performance of Etchu Isami Taiko in the Kyoku-uchi style is held.
December（師走・Shiwasu）
A burning ritual of old talismans and amulets from worshippers and parishioners is held, and preparations for the New Year are made, including cleaning fallen leaves in the shrine grounds and setting up snow protection for the garden trees.
